Captain Hook was the feared pirate captain of the Jolly Roger galleon and lord of the pirate harbour in Neverland. He wears an iron hook because one of his hands was cut off by Peter Pan and eaten by a crocodile. In fact, the crocodile liked the taste so much that it follows Captain Hook around. You know when the crocodile is near because it makes a tick tock sound because it swallowed a clock.
If you’re older but still want to be the feared pirate Captain Hook and the enemy of Peter Pan take a look at these great adult costumes.
The Ultimate Captain Hook costume comes with a bright red coat with gold trim, white ruffle
jabot, and hook hand prop. You just need to add a wig, hat, pants and boots to complete the look.
For an even more dashing look, why not go for the officially licensed Disney Captain Hook Prestige Adult Costume
. It consists of a maroon, black and gold jacket with sash, pants, flounced dickey, shoe covers and not forgetting the obligatory hook.

Did you know that Captain Hook made a brief appearance in Shrek 2 as the piano player in a tavern? He ends up singing karaoke to the song, “Hooked on a Feeling” – very appropriate! He also appears in the comic book, The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, at a pirate conference with other notable fictional characters such as Long John Silver, Captain Pugwash and Doctor Syn.

I was always a bit scared of Captain Hook, but these costumes look great. I think all pirate costumes are fantastic but Captain Hook is just that bit more special, especially for kids because they can be a character that they recognise from the movies. The boy in the picture definitely looks like he’s getting into the part & is ready to go chasing after Peter Pan.
